I just finished a game with small map/no warp point/high AI/high bonous.
I fully developed my home system and just after I had built my Sphere World, a warp point was opened to my system. So I sent my only baseship to guard it, expecting a huge fleet to come.
But the next turn the warp point was closed by the AI. I guess the AI was afraid of me, because I found that they only had light cruisers later. So AI will close a warp point in this situation?

Think it was just luck!
The AI is not very smart managing warp openers/closers.

Once in a while the AI gets lucky! But perhaps, you never know, it may have triggered some "Oh [censored], we're gonna die!" response. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
