I just played the demo for IV, and within a few min. decided to order the full version off amazon, I absolutley love the game! It won't be coming in for a few weeks, but in the mean time I was hpoing to read the manual to get a better grasp of how to play the game. The tutorial in the demo is sadly very short =(

Does anyone know if it is available for downloading/viewing online?

Hope to become a bigger part of this great community soon!

I think some site has it, Spaceempires I think, but it's not available at the moment.

Do you mean the site isnt available...or...what?

I can visit the site, but I don't see any links for it at all.

SpaceEmpires.net does not host any copies of the SEIV manual.

The Newbie FAQ (http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=153474) makes for a far better game manual than the one that comes with the game, in my opinion. It is far, far more complete.

I looked at that, but got lost, it isnt structured very well...just a bunch of specific questions, and not really any general overview information on the basics and whatnoght. Any other suggestions?

Are you talking abotu the electronic manual, or the printed manual? Either way, it would definitely be a violation of copyright laws...

When did you order your copy of the game? A week or so ago?

And you bought it from shrapnel games? The reason I am asking is because if you had bought it from shrapnel games only a few days ago then I would be concerned that perhaps you did not know that shrapnel games sold out of their stock of SEIV about a month ago. Now Chips & Bits still list having it in stock. Link (http://www.chipsbits.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId={E0F24D94-1DDC-42EVEREST68-A5C7-D53062A36319}&ic=SPACE4%2EIR&eq=&Tp=)

This should help people who are looking for the game to buy it. As for the manual, it really is not that big of a help. Your better off asking questions here and getting specific answers. There are a couple of strategy guides, and one getting started guide that help a little bit.

actually, the man said he bought it from Amazon.

welcome to the community. since were a small niche market of wargame grognards, were all a bit pirate-phobic. we dont mean to be rude though.

feel free to chime in about any topics that interest you, start your own, or ask plenty of "dumb n00b" questions. sure, theyre all answered in the faq. but we like answering questions; it gives us something to do besides staring at our navals.

and actually, the new manual is actually pretty handy for a "how do i play, and what do the buttons do?" not so handy for more advanced concepts, but by the time you run into those, you will know what to specifically look for in the FAQ. or just ask. we really do like answering questions, it makes us feel needed ;P

If you want to click around on an online resource that at least presents the info in small, hyperlinked bits, you could try the Encyclopedia Malfadorica {click} (http://invirtuo.cc/phpwiki/index.php/HomePage)

If that link doesn't work the first time, try clicking it again or hitting refresh. For some reason the Encyclopedia Malfadorica never seems to work the first time I access it, but it does afterwards, and I seem to remember a few forum posts that indicate it's not just me.
