What's the latest on that? (Subset: Would it be worth buying?)

Nothing's better than a good old keyboard http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

If you want to talk to it, then Dragon is good. If you want it to talk to you, then the only way to go is JAWS.

About how good is it? Do you still .Have. .To. .Talk. .Clearly. .Like. .Robot.? (Ok, maybe a bit of hyperbole http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif )

You do not have to speak like a robot in my new version of Dragon. You do have to say things like "period" or "comma" to get those to appear. The faster you talk the more mistakes it will make, but it does pretty good with normal speed speaking.

Practice does help and you will get into a "Dragon" mode of speaking. I don't have the experience yet to have that mode spill out into RL.

I did have many issues with noise pollution. It kept asking me to move to a quieter location. The only thing I had running was one of my computers which has special quiet fans and similar upgrades. The fans are not silent, but don't chatter either.

It learns as you go. At first you will do some training, but if you take the time, it will become quite good a knowing what you are saying.

What I want is voice recog tied into an mp3 player. Just say a song name and its played or enqued in your playlist. No idea if it exists but I would suspect not.

dragon might be able to do it. It can do keystrokes.
