View Full Version : Kronos and MB encounter

Master Belisarius
August 24th, 2005, 08:11 PM
Some weeks ago, the Emperor Kronos (my best ally during the second and definitive Galactic War between the Chaos Contingency and the GDI, in the SE3 times), did a brief trip to Montevideo.
Sadly, I was working and we only had time to lunch together... and talk briefly about the time we ruled the universe!!

In the picture, of course I'm the short and fat guy! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

For those who don't know, the Emperor Kronos has taken a year off from the real world to live in the other universe, planet: Earth, continent: South America.

So far he has spent ten days in Costa Rica, two and half months in Ecuador, four months in Peru, two weeks in Bolivia and is finishing up his first month in Argentina.

He is travelling under the guise of Paul Dionne and has posted pictures and thoughts at http://www.pauldionne.com/sa Unfortunately, his assistant has been lazy and deserves to be shot for not having added any new pics/information in quite a few months.

In the meantime, emails to the (unchanged) empire email address: MinervanEmpire@yahoo.com and instant messages on AIM MinervanEmpire will continue to be answered.

I am confident he would enjoy hearing from his old friends.

And that's all I can think of to say. Brain tired.

Wow. I remember GDI v. Chaos. Minerva, MB's empire (Aquillians?), Instar, myself (Cerban), and a few others I can't quite recall... seems like so long ago. Six or seven years, I think.

Nice to see that you two could get together for a chat!

I like how the pose was done in front of the very impressive statue. I can just picture you both thinking... "Some day I'm going to change that statue!" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Great to see two Galatic Rulers meeting on such friendly terms. I for one could not see any daggers, poisons, snipers or even small high tech explosives in that picture. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

It wouldn't need much, just a new plaque. From a distace the guy on the horse looks like he could be Kronos. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

hahahahaha.
By the way, the guy in the horse is "Artigas", our national hero.
It's an statue done in Italy (around 1900), with the style of the renaissance. The similarity with the Donatello's works it's obvious (the Gatamelatta and Colleoni's statues as example).

Hey old friend, how have you been? I’ll bet the little ones aren’t so little anymore. I’ve been following Paul’s adventures on his web site; be careful or he will have you hiking up a big mountain http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif

The first shot was taken from the high mountain top just behind me in the second photo. Just a testament to Thermo's comments about hill-climbing.
<end rp>

Thermo, you are too kind. I do miss my time playing but I really miss the people more. I was joking with MB that you live just outside DC and I have never met you but met him even though he is half a world away.

If you guys ever get a chance to visit South America do it. There is so much to see and it is fairly cheap (if you are willing to stay in hostels, Bolivia being the cheapst at USD$2.50 per night).

Uruguay was not what I expected. I did not read up on it at all before going. It has the highest wages of all the countries in South America. There are 2 and 3 bedroom beach-front condos for sale for over USD$350,000. By comparison a waterfront condo in Lima Peru currently runs about USD$60,000.

You should be talking about "Punta del Este" (180kmt from Montevideo). Yes, there everything is very expensive...

By the way, the condo where I live (has 2 bedroom and yes, it's small) in Montevideo, cost around USD35,000... and I'm close to the coast (more expensive).

Hey, both pictures are very very nice!

Well, this time we had more time!

In the pictures, I'm showing some facts:
- The proof that we never wanted to eat the world!!
- Kronos is capable to do an "Asado" like a true "Gaucho".
- We had time to climb a few mountains!

Cheese is part of the 'Narf' persona, which I made up to have fun on the web. My favorite food is actually liverwurst. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

But cheese is good, to. I once bought $20 worth of cheese just to eat it. Didn't eat it all at once, though.
