Component pictures and modding

Can each race have its own Version of a weapon picture? Ie, can the picture for the level one Missile Weapons be different between two races? How is this done?

The data for each component is specified in se4\data\components.txt. This file is used by all races in a particular game.

If it is a common component, eg Capital missiles, which all races have then NO you can't, as the component data is linked to one picture only.
If you design another component for a race such as, Rage capital missile, then yes you could link it to any picture you wished.
