Just as the Subject line says. I hope the AI will receive patching/improvement before any other change to facilities, weapons etc. It is truly the one aspect that makes or breaks everything else. Any word from testers or Richard that the AI will be changed??

The AI is continually improved. I don't remember a patch in a long time where Aaron didn't do something to improve AI performance.

Just don't expect perfection. The AI will always be predictable after you play it enough, it is just a bunch of algorithms you know. MM could make each one a bit different from the others in terms of what exactly they will do, making it harder to make a one-size-fits-all strategy against AI, but that would take a lot of time. Then again - everything is bunch of algorithms; expressions of laws of the nature. Reality is like a complicatated computer game.

I expect perfection in life, like I expect a perfect and unpredictible AI in SE4.

I just don't expect it to happen NOW - or for the next patch even. Just as long as PERFECTION is the GOAL; something to work TOWARDS - then I will be content.

Sometimes I find the AI quite unpredictable: In a recent game the Nultoh destroyed a star and you bet I was rather surprised!

There should be a thread floating around which lists some of the fixes and improvements to the game. I think there are some fixes to the AI behavior but no real heavy duty changes to it yet. I'm assuming Aaron is trying to get most of the bugs worked out of the system first. This would make sense to me as a programmer, you don't want to add anything major while you know there are still bugs since your additions could interatct with the bugs in strange and unpredictable ways.

True but perfection is never perfect enough, besides a perfect AI would be unbeatable, I'll settle for the older model thx http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Don't worry with everyone working on changes to the AI it will keep improving. Compare how the AI performs from the orginal Version to the current patch. A marked difference I would say.
