I have the basic models for the Klingons started. These are rendered in X format with no texturing. They are not sized correctly nor are they final designs.

The models were made in DOGA, exported to Meta then rendered in X format. I can do a UV map but for some reason this latest batch didn't want to load for viewing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif So I just rendered the ships without the UV maps.
Texturing the models and getting them to load is going to be the major problem I think.

hey AC, according to my research that latest ship of yours is not actually utilizing textures is it ? it seems you just gave the polygons/objects a color, contradictionary to using a proper texture to be put "around" the actual polygons.
Or am i wrong ?
Anyways, UV-Mapping is PRETTY fking difficult. If you manage to get something to look properly, congratulations. Its so damn hard, alost impossible to apply a good texture on a ship that is more than just your standart borg cube ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Yeah, looking at this I am definitely looking forward to Star Trek ships in SE V 3-D combat.

Sizing the ships is going to be interesting as we all know the Negh'Var is fricking huge compared to BOP's. And there are three classifications for BOP's from 12 man B'Rels to 200 man K'Vorts. Klingons tend to stick with designs that work and then make them in various sizes.
