View Full Version : Rebel Troops
Atrocities

I finally got some interest in working on the Rebellion (Rebel) ship set again. These troops are locked and will be the ones for the Rebel set. Here is a look at what they are.

The Rebel Speeder is the Small, the Tank is the Medium, the Heavy Scout Walker is Large, and the Heavy ATAT is the Troop Huge.
Yes I know this goes against the "Cannon" Star Wars but please bare in mind that Space Empires is NOT star wars.

Close Up of Rebe Walker.
It is an older Imperial design, out dated by all standards but purchased in bulk by the Rebellion through third party sources when the Imperials auctioned them off for salvage.

You can attach multiple files to one post by editing the post after each file, you know. Make sure to copy the link to the previous file into the post text body before you edit the attachment field to upload a new file.

I know, but sometimes it doesn't work. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I could not get it to work this time. It kept replacing the previous upload with the new upload.

Who doesn't like Wookies? When I was down at Uni one of the local roads passed through 'Chu Bycca' junction. It could never be driven past without the whole car making stupid wookie noises.

Yup. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I should have a revision for the Imperial set soon as well. (New bases and better AI)

I think I made a nice looking snowspeeder. I really didn't think I could pull it off, but I did and it somewhat resembles the craft from ESB. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

The rebel heavy troop would look more like a blimp, according to the technology guide. Turbolaser emplacements around it, with a turbolaser dish at the tip. Light troop would probally be infantry. Of course, if you don't want that... make a small turret like on ESB, the ones they had on Hoth.

Thanks guys. I was planning on making the turret just to have it for the set.

Rebels do not use AT-AT walkers. They have air vehicles.

Well now they do.
I had to take creative license with the set Null. I based the concept for the Rebel walker on something that would resemeble an early designed Imperial AT AT. The idea being that the rebels could not build new ones to combat the Imperial walkers so they bought the older ones and upgraded them.
No where is it written in stone that the Rebels cannot have AT-AT's. The rebels are a mobile force so ya it stands to reason they would want to keep defenses small and portable, however SE IV is NOT the Star Wars universe. In SE IV the Rebellion has to protect the planets its colonizes.
If your looking for a true Star Wars game that follows the connon literal, by the book, God graceful line of Lucas and the Star Wars fanatic fan base, then go buy Rebellion or wait for A Galaxy At War to come out, in the mean time just enjoy the set. You can always change things to your liking or make new images to use. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

The Rebel Alliance isn't supposed to have anything set in stone. They are a resistance movement using whatever they can manage to scrounge up. Even when they became the New Republic they were using leftovers. They were very lucky to obtain the starfighters and Mon-Cal ships. The set is perfectly fine as is. No, scratch that, it's more than fine. It's freakin' awesome! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The AT-TE And does it ever take some time to render.

We don't take kindly to canon complaints 'round here.
You better quit yer whinin' afore someone takes offense!
Seriously, Atrocities has already had more canonists bugging him than anybody should have to deal with in a lifetime.
