View Full Version : What SE documentation should I make interactive?

I'm taking a course in interactive media design, and for one of our projects we're supposed to take some sort of booklet, instruction manual, short story, database, or other document and turn it into interactive media. I was thinking maybe I could do something for the expanding Space Empires community with this project... so what kind of documentation would you like to see in an interactive format? The Newbie FAQ? The printed manual? The Dubious Strategy Guide? A modding tutorial? Keep in mind that this is something I need to have a basic structure outlined in about 2 weeks and the entire project completed in about 6 weeks (have to check the syllabus for exact dates), and I'll most likely be using Macromedia Director, and I'd like to have something where I can insert some graphics, not just a bunch of text... Any thoughts?

How about something that would cover a sub-tree of courses for the School of Carrier Battles mod?

Cool idea http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
Of course my professor and fellow students would be completely perplexed as to what the heck I'm up to when I present the project... but hey, it should be at least a bit intuitive, given that CBmod is supposed to be at least a bit realistic http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
edit: hmm, doesn't look like very many of the courses have actually been WRITTEN... I'm supposed to be converting existing content for this project, not creating entirely new content, but I doubt my professor would mind if I took on that additional workload http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I was thinking you could take them through a presentation of a PBW game. Better yet, I bet you could find a fan fiction story from empire beginning to end, to present to the class; or create your own.
or to keep it simple, find a way to present the getting started game guide, and add a couple of turns to the presentation.
