While trolling through the PBW games list I came up with a great idea for a game.

This is a very special game designed for... well, to be frank, quitters.

Anyone known for never finishing a game will be welcome. With the huge numbers of such people, the game should fill up quickly so don't hesitate, join now!

Warning:

If you are a known reliable player, you will be kicked!
Even if you are a somewhat reliable player who generally finishes games, you will be kicked.
Hell, if I even suspect you might finish, I'll kick you!
Other factors: Timely uploads = kicked! Promptly answers emails = kicked! All round nice guy = kicked! Asset to the community = kicked!

So, like I said, get in now while the gettin's good!

Hmmm, that might be crazy enough to work. I promise to not turn in a single turn for the first month!

Uh, what's the point of a game like this? If you try to actually play, you'll get kicked? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

On a side note, I definitely don't qualify.

I think I fail the 'nice guy' test. And possibly the 'asset to the community' test.

I think we are all missing the point and this is just a joke. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

We did actually have a game during the PBW beta phase where we kicked everybody every few turns and all the players rejoined in a different order and so controlled different empires at different times during the game. But it was just to test the PBW mechanics and make sure it all worked correctly.

Oh. Well, a game where you're supposed to quit every say five turns would fit my playing style perfectly. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

I think this is a jab at all the people who join a PBW game but then drop out somewhere right in the middle, inconveniencing the other players and more often than not killing the entire game. I think GK's become a little pissed off with it all. Can't say I blame him!

Then again, my interpretation may be totally off. After all, I'm always running around like an insane squirrel on PCP. Now isn't that a vivid mental image.

Maybe if the turns were set at 365 days, that would be better for some people that can't seem to find the time to get their turn in! Huh, whadda ya think??? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

And PBW should not allow people to join more than 0 games at a time! That way, no-one would ever drop out!!
