I didn't even have to go to the hospital afterwards.

Ouch! Hell, I walked a marathon once (in about 10 hours). Got lots of respect for anyone who can run one. And with that time!? WoW!

I too once walked a marathon, from my computer to frig and back. I was completely wore out upon its completion.

Wow, congratulations on your achievement and excellent fitness level! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
I have never done something like that and I can't imagine the amount of training and dedication it takes to run a marathon. The longest distance I have ever run in my life is only 1 mile and that was during high school, about two decades ago.

Marathons rock.
Definitely one of the best experiences a person can have. It can’t be beat for sheer happiness. I mean that in all seriousness. Now, I admit that I am one of those lucky b*stards who can get into the ‘zone’ after mile ten or so and I just keep feeling a euphoric high until I stop…but really I wholeheartedly encourage anyone and everyone to try it. The human body is capable of amazing feats when it needs to be and a number of scientists nowadays think that it’s evolved to be a long distance runner (to run away from the sprinting hunters and to chase down distant prey).
Actually, just look for the local chapter of the Hash House Harriers, they’re a fun group, they just run a few miles and drink beer along the way. And do all sorts of other things.
Although I made sure all my finish line photos were burnt never to see the light of day. Not a pretty sight. At all. At all.

That ol' cheetah would still catch you, no matter how far you run...he's just that wee bit faster over short distances. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Well, remember I wouldn't have to run faster than the cheetah...just faster than the guy next to me.
