Xurian Confederacy

Inspired by the great works of Atrocities, I'm very nearly done with a ship set of my own. While nowhere near his league, I still thought I'd post a couple of examples and see what folks around here think.

So here is a preview of the Xurian Confederacy's Race Portrait, Worldship, Starbase, Small Fighter, and Drone.

The race portrait is particularly impressive. Is that taken from some scifi show or did you make it yourself?

Actually, it is a modified picture of a "one-off" race of aliens fron Stargate. Liked the look of them enough and the picture was workable, so I decided to give it a shot.

Take your time working on the set. If you add just a touch more detail, another secondary turret here, sensors pod there, you'll be much more satisfied with the result, even if others won't see every last detail http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I always design my ships with as much detail as possible, such as a name on the hull, a secondary or tertiary battery, an engine block, etc., even though I know no-one will even see the stuff..... Me? The Bartelian Confederacy. It's floating around on a distant page by now, but I'll see if I can get a link. Currently, I'm working (or rather, I'm in a hiatus from working) on the Tak'renna Coalition, which I want to create for my space opera mod, also currently major WIP. I have done a few non-shipset models too, mostly for my story, and I'll see if I can dig up a link to those pics too.

I read something about the The Bartelian Confederacy on SE-Wiki, trying to remember what. I'll pop over and see if I can spot it again.

- A link to the wiki entry that summarises and links to your Bartellian story.

The Bartelians have no story, they're just my first stab at a shipset capable of meshing with any mod. I may get around to making (an) entire shipset(s) for my story, but the Bartelians have nothing to do with it. As for the rest, I'll get to it ASAP. I'd all forgotten about them actually, which is why the article lacks so many things.

Well, my next set (or, at least, the Tak'renna - I might do one or two smaller ones before releasing them) is still quite some distance away, because I'm not going to do all that much work on them until I have the basic hull sizes framework for my mod ready. Then I can start creating ships without worrying about having to build a mod around a shipset instead of the other way around.

AAAnyway, looking forward to seeing the finished set BK!
