Thank you to Captain Kwok for telling us how to fix this new bug introduced by the latest SEIV Deluxe patch 1.95.

The bug was introduced with the new launch screen for Space Empires IV Deluxe v1.95. It would cause the game to crash whenever a player tried to start a mod using the mod launcher program or by editing the PATH.txt file.

The update is an intrum patch therefore it does not contain any other information other than the fix for this particular issue.

YOU MUST HAVE the FULL VERSION of the Star Trek Mod (version 1.9.2.6 Deluxe) already installed BEFORE you apply this update to the mod.

You can get the full version of the Star Trek Mod from www.astempire.net. (http://www.astempire.net.) Again the current FULL version of the mod is version 1.9.2.6 Deluxe, and it is about 30 megs.

If you already have the full version of the mod installed, version 1.9.2.6 Deluxe, then download this patch and apply it per these instructions.

1. download the patch.
2. unzip the patch
3. place the unzipped folder "star trek mod" into your space empires main directory.
4. click yes if asked to over write any files. (You are basically adding a new BMP image to the mod.)

Your patch file contains a thumb.db that could be deleted.

I'm preparing a new patch for DN4. What is the fix for this? I haven't updated to 1.95 because of this but I'm sure some of the players of this mod will/have.

Include the Pictures\Game\Dialogues\StartMenu.bmp file added in 1.95 to your mod.

So, download SFE or STM, and copy the bmp from there?

Download the Star Trek mod patch - I've not actually updated any of the files on my site.

Here's a copy of the startmenu.bmp file for anyone that wants it...
