You should listen to the song. Its not sad or negative, it simply fits. Either you get it or don't. Now if you looking for a negative sad song, I can recommend a library full of songs. I tend to prefer the more inspirational, non religious ones, myself. I like this song because its unique, and I can relate to it. It is exactly what I needed to hear. It neglects the fact that children see the world in an entirely different way than adults. They often fail to see the big picture, which is when you see the injustice and all the other bad things. They only see what they can see in front of them, which makes the world seem a better place. A part of growing up is seeing the bigger picture, the bad along with the good, and choosing whether or not you want to be a part of either one.

Bingo, its a song about aging, about how perceptions of youth and the world then changes as we age. The older we get the more we miss the world as it was when we were young.
