I can go, I just need an all expense paid pass with free air fair, hotel, and food money. A rental car, some more cash, and an escort would be acceptable as well.
If any one does go, we need many pictures... many many this time.

Ahh is it that time of year already? When the Origin's thread becomes the most popular thread on the entire forum.
The only others to rival it was Slynky's Dragon*Con photos thread and of course the Cantina http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
(Note, for new users, the images in the Dragon*Con Thread are down, all we have are memories...) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif

Oh, oh, oh, did I read Dragon Con?! Great pics!
I feel another "Timstone's Babes Thread" coming up! Just like last time.
When I was cleaning up my HDD not so long ago, I stumbled across those pics again. Man, there were some very nice ladies on those pics.
*drools with the thought of them*
Anyway, I deleted them. If anyone takes some pics again, I'll be happy to scurry through them again in search of some lovely ladies. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

I'll be at Origins. I usually spend my time in the War College seminars. WW2 and ancient topics. The modern topics are too depressing and too right wing.
You have not heard an interesting lecture about WW2 Eastern Front until you've heard David Glantz speak. I hear Charles Sharp will also speak this year, and he's always fun.
My wife also comes to Origins, and while I'm at seminars she enjoys herself shopping in beautiful downtown Columbus.
We always enjoy Origins weekend!

From what i've heard of Origins it sounds like a blast. What stops me from attending is 3665 miles, unless someone's willing to front the gas money and buy the snacks? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif

I think we need something stronger than bleach.
Hydrofluoric acid might do the trick.
/me passes around the HF after Narf's bleach.

I remember one year, I was hanging around the booth for the wargame company The Gamers, when the Chainmail Lady came strutting by. Suddenly, all the guys at The Gamers' booth who had been scoping the Lady out from a distance got real shy. Somebody tried to get Gamers owner Dean Essig to pose for a photo with the Lady, and he politely but firmly declined. His face was quite red.
If you want a really fun time at Origins, go to the Smithee Awards with Dean and his gang. Dean is one of the coolest guys in the wargame biz and loves to have a laugh.
Another one of my most fun Origins memories was meeting Masahiro Yamazaki and finding that he actually remembered me from the previous year.

You'll have a great time if you can scrape up the funds to get there. Guys regularly come from Japan, the UK, Germany, South Africa. I'm lucky in that I live in Cleveland, Ohio, which is just a 2.5 hour drive from Columbus.
Columbus is a great city. The convention center is conveniently located, and there are plenty of things for your wife/girlfriend/significant other to do if they are not interested in games.
