Three years ago I created five ship sets that were to be used as gift prizes for a tournament that to date has yeilded no winners.

Now we are on the brink of the release of SEV and still no winners have come fourth to claim these ship sets.

For all intents and purposes, the tournament appears to be dead or at the very least, hopelessly stalled.

Therefore I am going to release the sets within a few days unless I am asked not to by Tesco. Since it has been some time time since Tesco and I have talked, and the fact that the tournament might still be going on, I wish wait a few days to give Tesco or any one, the chance to stop me from releasing the sets.

The clock is not running, so please let me know Tesco... is the tournament dead? Can I release the sets or should I hold off a bit longer?

The final game is pretty much dead at this point, with Flatline having withdrawn almost 20 turns ago and Joachim having missed the past 14 turns, plus an error in turn processing last turn that Tesco hasn't done anything about. I don't know of any reason to expect a retry to go any differently in that respect, so I think the best option is just to end it now. Personally, I think the fairest way to determine rankings among the four of us would be to examine the history file that I assume PBW keeps in full, which would show that I achieved first place by score a considerable while before anyone stopped playing, most likely with a generally increasing gap ever since that point. By now, I'm almost completely certain I have an unbeatable advantage.

If the top five players want to pick a set and come up with a name for the race, a race portrait, and a back story, that would be fine with me. The current top player would have first pick of the sets, followed by the second then the third, fourth, and finally fifth player.

Let me know... otherwise I will just release the sets. Thanks

Doublas, as first place player, you would have your choice of the five sets.

You should just e-mail Tesco, you'll get a faster response... in theory at least. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Wow. I have to say that this is the oldest post I've seen ressurected. I hope it did turn out, though it sounds unlikely.

Please Note:

I will be posting the five ship sets that were created for the tournament within the next few hours. Since I have not received any information as to the disposition of the sets, I am creating back stories and names for them all. These sets are not currently Geo-Standard, but I hope to make them so soon.

I want to thank all of the tournament players in advance, you guys inspired what I hope all of you will think are some nice sets. These sets are dedicated too you guys.

Will they be posted at your website, or somewhere else?

I will post them here, and ask Fyron to host them. NASY is full up and has no space left. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Hopefully Fyron will host them.

Did you ever actually e-mail Tesco? I'm sure he would've replied.

Not that it's important, he would have said go ahead anyways... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

So, are these sets going to be released, or are they still pending a decision there? Just curious, and maybe a bit eager too (LOL).
