I'm working on completing a shipset, but I'm having a time with one specific detail and I was hoping everyone around here couls help me clarify it specifically.

What I'm trying to determine is in each "category" of ships/stations, which is the smallest to largest in order.

Below is the list of ships/stations in the order of size I think they fit into the game. If I've forgotten something, please let me know what, and where it fits in.

Here's what I have so far ( Feel free to correct it on any points of error ):

The term juggernaut is used to describe any literal or metaphorical force regarded as unstoppable;

I would say Light Carrier (CVL) rather than Small Carrier, but that is SEIV.

I've seen the term Light Carrier and CL used in plenty of space-navy novels.

CL is a Cruiser, Light. It cracks me up the people that call Light Cruisers LCs. Of course, I laugh almost as much from my own (Navy) point of view and prejudices as from the strange people that talk of LCs.

Other fleets than the US can have different names for ships types than those listed. Also sometimes the size order of ships is different in different navies. For instance I remember that in some country a Frigate is bigger than a Destroyer.

'Frigate' has always sounded like a tough word to me.

The reason that it is Cruiser – Light, is because the light refers to the size of the main battery. Cruisers are by original design, ship with long range and the ability to stay at sea for long periods of time. A cruiser light could displace more tonnage than a cruiser medium, but have smaller/less main guns. Despite the heroics of WW2, cruisers were not meant to slug it out in fleet battles. There intent was to project the (illusion) of power across the globe and maintain some control over far flung international trade routes.

Shouldn't Frigate be Between Corvette and Destroyer?
