Atrocities

As many of you know there is a new ST game on the horizon, Star Trek Legacy (http://startrek.bethsoft.com/games/legacy-overview.html). I was hoping that someone could tell me the name of this TMP ship (http://startrek.bethsoft.com/images/art/legacypcscreens/lepc_18S.jpg) fighting the Borg Battle Cube.
Thanks.

A bigger pic would help, but I assume its the a Battleship of some sort...Most of the stuff will be 'canon' IE seen before...but there will be some new ships for all eras...P81 also know as Rick Knox is rumored to be one of the modellers for the game...

It really is a small picture. I thought maybe it was the Enterprise NX, but zooming in it starts to look like the Enterprise (TOS) only it has 2 main bodys together with one saucer, and an nacelle to each body.

That reminds me of the one that's coming out for the Nintendo DS, "Star Trek: Tactical Assault" which is "teh woot" because I can only imagine the possibilities - plotting tactical ship trajectories on the touchscreen while controlling weapons and emergency maneuvers with the main controls??? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif
/me is SO going to buy Tactical Assault http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
edit: after looking at the screenshots, it looks like they went a different route with the touchscreen, but it still looks intriguing to say the least...

Can't find the pic in question, apparently..... The only ship with two hulls I've ever seen was the SFC I Federation BB, but it only had one saucer and DEFINITELY wasn't canon.....

Not sure, but I think it may be a Norway-class ship?

Sorry, I was afraid I would be misunderstood. I meant a single saucer, not 1 for each body. Anyway as you can see from the better picture I was right, only it appears to have 4 nacelles (2 x 2)and a bridging section as in a Miranda class.

It does look like a miranda primary but it can also be an excelsior primary too.

It's obviously the Enterprise in a family way.

Hmm, that isnīt the SFC BB, it had different nacelles that were arranged in a different way..... Yes, looks like an Excelsior or Miranda saucer - but I think it isnīt any of those, it seems to be an all-new saucer. Canīt place the hulls too, definitely not Constitution II or Excelsior, must be new too. Nacelles look like standard movie era nacelles, but slightly different.....
Ladies, gentlemen and Atrocities, I think we are looking at a whole new ship here. (no offense Atro, just wanted to say that)

Well I asked some knowledgeable people, and basically they all said it looks similar to a BB called the Yamato. For the most part, they say it appears to be something new. They have placed it firmly in TMP era.

I've looked high and low over every source I know of, and that is the only trace of that design I can find anywhere. My thought is it must be unique to the game.

Its a new design based off of a few exsisting hull types. Thanks everybody.

Here's another image with that same ship configuration:

The bottom hulls look to be another set of engines, or something...

It could be a Pyotr Velikiy Class tug variant?

Dooohhhh !!!, Never thought to look at tugs.
Perhaps an Assault Ship variant, maybe? Who knows?

That was a good call TNZ. Having played the paper variant of SFB for more years than I can remember, the battle tug with dual pods first came to mind. But if you notice the body more resembles that of a constitution class rather than the cylindrical shape of the battle pods.
My reckoning is that it is a new design.
BTW, hi Atrocities..it's been a long time since I was on this forum. Was hoping to find any progress on SEV:) GC2 has proven to be an excellent game, especially for modding, too bad it's only single player. I'm looking forward to Legacy when it comes out.

Nice.
Any thoughts of adding it to a shipset?

I am going to add it and a few other new ships to the Caspian set along with a new race portrait.
