Here's something that I had asked others for suggestions to build a while ago. I think that this wasn't even one of the suggested ships but thought I'd build it anyway.

Now, I'm wondering how good of a job I did. Can anyone name that ship?

I have that very same wooden stool. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I use it for good next to my cot in the Cats/spare TV room. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Oh ya, cool lego ship. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

It's jiggling a memory somewhere, but I can't quite place it yet...

Not from space: above and beyond is it?

Are you planning to make a shipset of scanned lego models? That would be cool.

It sort of reminds me of a Starship troopers ship, only not as long.

And Spoo wins the prize!!! Here's your cheese /threads/images/Graemlins/Cheese.gif

A Phong BattleCruiser to be exact. The nose should have been longer but I under estimated supply of pieces when I started. Also, it should have been grey but not enough grey to do it properly. It was more an experiment build in creating a curved look than anything else. Trickier than you'd think.

For comparison:

I was thinking it might be a Phong ship, but the white threw me off http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I take that to mean that my version isn't very close to it's model http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Aside from the bright appearance I thought it was a pretty good representation.

It's phong-ish in shape (I should know I use that shipset) but the coloration is off. If it was all grey it would be a dead ringer. Personally, I was wracking my brains trying to remember if there were any ships colored like that from the MOO series.

If it makes you feel any better, I thought it was a Phong ship, but I only looked in this thread just now.

Looks real good! Care to try your hand at a "LegPhong" shipset or something? I know I'd want to download those yellow rocks if they were made of plastic bricks http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yeah, I tried to get it in grey but when I seperated all my grey, it wouldn't have worked.

Since doing this I have been thinking about a lego shipset. Building the ships, taking the pics and converting that to a shipset. but if I do that it won't be based on any existing shipset.
