Hi all,

I have upgraded my installation to 1.94 Deluxe (from original Gold) New installation. But when I try to apply the 1.94 to 1.95 Deluxe patch I get a DOS box with highly abbreviated path at the top and it says "16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem. NTVDM CPU encountered an illegal instruction. Then a bunch of numbers follow.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I've tried both in a seperate directory and in the directory when the game is installed.

Thanks

I wouldn't use the 1.95 patch personally, I don't believe it has any bug fixes just adds some more menu fluff.

From History.txt -
Version 1.95:
1. Fixed - Mount selection on the Weapons Report was only showing the Normal Mount.
2. Fixed - The game will now create any directories that are missing.
3. Fixed - Occasionally, the TCP/IP would not connect using UDP.
4. Fixed - Over 300 System Types would crash the game.
5. Fixed - The Map Editor was not loading old Settings.txt files (with track numbers).
6. Added - Added a startup menu window.

#1 was what convinced me to upgrade from v1.91 to Deluxe; that bug has always been a nuisance.

I don't have any suggestions regarding the original question.

Ack, beat to the punch!

Definitely necessary to play TCP/IP in Deluxe with any sort of firewalls and NAT routers involved. I don't know what he meant by "occassionally," when it was a 100% occurance...

Are you certain it is the correct patch? I believe there is one floating around that is specific for the Australian version...

Well, I was an idiot.

I was right-clicking and downloading from the malfador site. You have to left-click and then go to the SF site and then download it.

I didn't check the details of what I was doing. Sorry to waste people's time.
