View Full Version : OT Poll: How Old Are You??

Renegade 13
June 10th, 2006, 02:54 PM
CW's graduation topic brought up something interesting; the demographics of those of us who frequent the forums, specifically with regards to age.

I believe a poll like this was done about a year back, but A) People have come and gone since then and B) I'm too lazy to go find it!!

Anyways, please vote to show your age, and post if you feel like it! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Voted, but I wanted to note that I'm 30, but will be 31 in about 2 months.

So far it seems to be following a fairly normal distribution curve, with the mean around 25 years old. Interesting.

I learned that the only time you are too old to love is when you are dead.

Just wait for all the older players to shamble on in and vote!

I'd like to know who our elder statesman is.

as for the elder statesman..hmmm,... Fyron could probably tell you, but I hear he's suave, caring, lovable, handsome, gorgeous, smart, shy, and loves brewskis

as for turning 16 and not belonging here,,, where ever did you get that idea... all ages welcome, beside when playing a game, age means nothing.. ones actions and behaviour are what counts..

Yeah, but we haven't seen Gryphon around in a while...

And we all know that you hit 25 and just stopped getting older, Mac. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Once while playing TRIBES I had the high score and was racking up the kills and flag captures. (Honestly I always had the high score, 1st, 2nd, or at the lowest 3rd).

To toot my own horn, I decided to have some fun. A lot of the players that day were *****ing up a storm because they just couldn't stop me. They could have if they had mounted a decent defense but hey, they didn't so I took advantage of their lack of skill.

When I decided to sign off, I posted a global message that went something like this; "My mom says its my bed time now. She wants me to get some rest because tomorrow I turn 8 years old."

That just about stopped the game..... I definately injured some egos that day. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

So age does matter, well at least when your kicking *** it does. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

No, but given the fact that I'm one of the only two people under 18, I am pretty young for this forum http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Just out of curiosity - Age-wise, who is the oldest member around here?

I'd say Mac or Gryphon (nowadays Grey_One, IIRC). At least, that's what I heard.....

I think I may be older than Gryphin. Still Chasing Mac.

I will be 21 in 18 days. So I put myself in the 21-25 age group on the poll.

Mac should be the oldest age-wise. Though I think PvK has been here the longest, since 1999 if I remember correctly.

Maybe you can skip your next birthday by crossing the International Date Line from East to West. Then you'd still be the same age for another year! Not sure if this would work... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

this is the old poll resurrected, it is sort of outdated, so maybe I'll set up a new one to see how everyone has aged (except me of course http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

I am on the short side of the big 40 and have nothing to show for it say a massive gut, bad health, no kids, no savings, and three computers, all of which are horribly out dated. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Oooh and a lap top. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
