Does the .gam file contain a snapshot of the text file (data dir, ai etc.) configs from when that game was started?

For example if I set path.txt to point to a Mod directory and start a game, play for a while. Then I load up an old PBEM game (created with no mods) and run the host to generate the next move does it use the game parameters in .gam or does it go to the Mod directories?

Should I change path.txt back to none for mods, before hosting PBEM games or playing games which were started with no mods?

SE4 loads all datafiles when it starts.

.gam files do not include all the mod information (they'd be HUGE!)

You must restart SE4 with a new path.txt or SE4 will run the turns using information from the mod.

Running turns under random mods could result in crashes, or screwey things happening, so don't do it.
