Why The Image Mods Are Seprate Downloads

This is just an advisory for those people who don't understand why many of us do not include the IMAGE MOD PACKs with out mods.

1. To include the image mod packs would increase the size of our mods to over 100 megs or greater.

2. The image mod packs are used by other mods and having them included with just one mod would be a waste of time and disk space. Better to have them in one directy that ALL mods can access.

3. Easy of updating the image mod packs. When SJ updates any of the images mods, thats all that needs to be updated. A mod maker won't have to release a update patch for his mod each time a new image is added to the image mod pack.

4. By keeping the image mod packs as seperate downloads, it insures that players MUST download the latest versions of the packs inorder to take advantage of them.

5. Keeping the Image Mod Packs and other mods seperated is just good mod making sense.

I hope this helps to clear things up.

By the way, downloading and installing the image mod is simple. As is downloading and installing most other mods that take advantage of the image mod packs.

AT, I'm a little rusty. If I wanted to go and d/l teh image mods, where exactly do I go to? I just can't remember, and even if I can't play the game currently, I'd like to keep up on stuff like this.

Yes, there are two downloads now available one from fyrons site which is an exe file. (I just used it myself today)

Image Pack Complete (http://www.astempire.net/zips/ImagePack.zip) is a zip file.

This is a 56 meg file and contains all of the image pack files. The Image Pack will overwrite only a few files in your pictures folder. This is done to ensure that you have access to all of the new images supplied by the pack.

Image Pack Includes:
Planet Pack
Component Pack
Facility Pack
Event Pack
Combat Pack

These packs were gathered from http://imagemodserver.mine.nu/other/MM/SE4/imagemod/ and combined into a single zip for convience. There is also a downloadable exe version available from www.spaceempires.net (http://www.spaceempires.net)
