I'm not sure if this has been mentioned and I just wasn't paying attention:
I've experienced a bug in 1.35 (and in the previous Version too), where, for a single turn in tactical combat, my ships loose all of their movement and none of my weapons can fire. Needless to say I usually lose battles where this has happened (like when it happened today). Has anyone else experienced this? I wish I had saved the game so I could send it to MM. I'm using my own mod BTW.

Sounds like a mod you have done is the problem.
Check the design data files for the races that they are the same as the new combat names for the default race data files.
Optimum weapon range got changed to Optimum firing range.
There were a couple of name changes and now the game will have a bit of a spit about the names

I experienced it like 100 million times so far. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif
I am trying to get a better insight on it but it is going slowly (I don't lose many battles). I did catch a reason why AI loses movement though (AI has his problems too, the ones that Marty/Nitram mentioned).

Now that you mention it, I think I've seen this once or twice, too. I thought I'd just lost track of whether I'd hit End Turn yet.

There used to be a way to 'take an extra turn' in the game. It involved capturing an enemy ship (boarding) and then moving it, and ending the turn with that ship, the AI would think it just had it's turn, and volia, a new turn for you without the computer doing anything. This was annoying and somewhat cheesy. Havn't tried it recently but hopefully it is gone.

"The Empress took your name away," said Chance.
Owen smiled coldly. "It wasn't hers to take. I'm a Deathstalker until I die. And we never forget a slight or an enemy." -Owen Deathstalker.

Did you lose a ship? I know if you destroy the AI formation leader their ships freeze for one turn and do nothing.
