I'm working on version 2 of the Masters Mod, and I'm thinking of dropping the crossover Master traits (Trek and SW) and re-focusing the mod on Master traits that deliver different styles of gameplay.

What do you guys think?

Okay, look like there weren't enough responses to come to a definitive conclusion, but it's leaning towards keeping the Trek and SW Masters traits in there as-is.

I'll be doing a little bit of re-organizing for the Masters Mod v2, but I'll try to keep the SW and Trek traits pretty much as they are.

I'd vote, but since I haven't even played the mod, I can't very well vote. But nothing wrong with having Star Trek and Star Wars in any mod.

Completely off-topic to this discussion, but related to Masters Mod:
The Small Ship Masters get the Shielded LC / Shielded Cruiser ship hulls. These don't produce phased shields. Once phased shields are researched, they ought to get Phase-Shielded versions of these hulls, just so that the shields from the hulls don't "unphase" the phased shields that are going to be applied! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Doesn't adding a phased shield generator make all the other shields on-board phased too?

no... it's the other way around http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Cause otherwise you could have 49 standard generators and one phased generator and...

Oh, another issue... the HyperDrive III is no better than the Hyperdrive II, since se4 has a limit of 30 moves per turn...

The 30 movement limit doesn't apply in sequential movement.

Of course, even 30 movement is perhaps too much to be reasonable, in my opinion. It makes the game really hectic.

I'll have to take another look at the hyperdrive. I had no idea SE4 had a 30 movement point limit. I kinda like being able to traverse half the galaxy in one go.

warp point opening is my way, one move only to the other edge of the galaxy!
