The reason why my system keeps crashing is not becuase of the Nvidia drivers or because of AVG, but because of good old MS Xp updates. XP udpated itself with new verification software and ever since that point, crash city.

God I hate MF'ers at MS!

AT you should turn off the windows updates. I had problems you wouldn't believe and thanks to Fyron, I found the problem.. windows update updating, since I turned it off, no problems.......

Yeah, disable auto updating. I just have it set to notify me when there are updates and then I'll see what they are before applying them. You should also be able to unapply the patch as well - just look for the patch number thingy and then check your add/remove program list.

I guess MS is fighting a no-win battle. People complain because there are vulnerabilities and so they make patches; then people complain about the patches... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Personally, I wouldn't be complaining about an invulnerable OS. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Nor would I, but when the patches clear up some vulnerabilities and create twice as many new ones, I wouldn't call it invulnerable, would you? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Well its all gone. Everything, every last thing I had on this HP peace of utter [censored] is gone. It was combination of uninstalling Nortan, Windows updating to MS bull [censored], and the conflict with Nvidia drivers. Everything is gone, not even my back ups will work. The restore system for XP is utter trash, the recovery system is even worse. I am back to square one. I have some of my old files but most cannot be accessed. "Cannot Access File"

What bites is that NONE of my back up disks can be read. Not one! I have some files backed up on my second drive, assuming it wasn't wiped out by the restore process, I hope to have at least saved a few things.

Norton is evil, MS is evil, and if I could I would sue both companies for criminally damaging my life. The bastards!

Yes, but if you didn't spend your days screaming at your PC screen, your life would seem hollow, somehow.
