I really like the upper right one TC, very nice concept.

I picked lower right, it's different and I like the vertical look. I might even suggest a shaft of light beaming between the upper and lower center circular rim. It could serve as both a becon to make the space station easier to find and a means to show a power source venting system. Just a thought, and I said I 'might' suggest. So I acutally didn't say anything, nope, nothing at all.

Nice designs, all of them are good. (actually Great!)

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Top right looks more like something ppl would live and work on. Bottom left is a nice concept, but the two discs are too different in stlye to the connecting section- it looks like a vertical station with two (partially built) alien craft docked. Maybe if you could sort out the style issue I'd vote for that one.
Top left gets the bronze medal, bottom right last place.

Upper right. I'm a traditionalist.

I like them all actually. The top right and bottom left look like good general purpose bases. The top left looks like a good supply base, and the bottom left just screams 'space yard'.

I'd have to know what it is before I can pick out the one I like the best. Did I miss a "name" somewhere?

That's what I thought. To choose the 'best' one, I'd want to know what I was choosing. Some would make a good orbital base whereas others look better suited for mobile applications.

There are no names for the models. They are all Work-In-Progress.

But if I had to categorize them, they would be as follows:

Upper left - potential research station
Upper right - potential warstation
Lower left - potential large space station
Lower right - potential starbase

theyre all rather cool. the lower left looks neat, but is certainly special purpose. the lower right looks very nice, and i disagree with the comment that it does not fit together.

in fact, i think the lower right is my favorite. but i picked the upper right, because it looks like a large platform on which to mount lots of big guns, and im currently in the mood to blow things up.

Fortunatly, you can vote for more than one.

I picked upper right and lower left.

these are almost my own feelings exactly. If the lower left had a change to the style a bit, that would have been my first choice. Perhaps if the "unfinished" sections looked like opening 'fingers' reaching towards each other with still the same spacing between them, then rotated about 90 degrees left so that the 'finger sections' were facing more forward.

They're all best. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif No seriously, I like them all. I thought maybe the upper-left was a front view of the upper-right one for a second.

From the 'two dimensional' point of view, i.e. from the SE combat perspective, the upper right looks coolest. It will be easily recognizable from the angled view or from the top down view. It also has the most 'surface' in the single plane where ships and units will be moving, so offering the most space for firing points. The others will be harder to recognize from the 'top down' angle and also have fewer firing points.

I like the lower left one because of the unusual alien-looking appearance.

for pure aesthetics, the upper right, though the lower left has its appeal, maybe some altering of textures to reduce the mismatch in the primary structural elements.
the lower right reminds me of an episode an episode or two of STNG. the upper left not sure.....

Upper right, but nice work on all of them really!
