I've started making some components for a mod I may or may not ever make ( http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ), but I'm not sure if they're "good enough" to submit to the image mod. Not bad at all. The green/yellow texture looks a little odd in the larger picture, but it gets smooted out in the 128x128 image so it doesn't really matter there.

It was originally intended to be an engine, but I'm really not sure what it is yet http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif Any suggestions?

It would be very hard to make a ship set out of it, but you could give it a try.

You know, I hadn't thought of making a shipset out of it, but it is a possibility...though as you say, it would be quite difficult.

I don't see why it would be difficult to make a shipset out of it (aside from the initial concept and construction, obviously).

By varying the number/length of the stalks and bubble clusters, it could be easy to tell the size/function of a ship within the shipset.

As for function, thus far we have:

- Organic Missile/Bomb
- Organic Colony Ship
- Plague Bomb (2)
- Organic Stellar Manip. Component
- Organic Cattleprod (don't think it'll end up being this http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif )
- Organic Propulsion

Right now I'm not sure what it'll end up being, but most likely it will serve as some sort of component, not the basis for a shipset. Though it's likely I'll eventually get around to making a similarly designed shipset too, when I feel like making another shipset. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Give it a couple of years, and my kid could probably do better. J/K. I like it very much, and I wish I had the time, the know-how and the programs to create something like that. Good job.

It doesn't require much know-how, just a little bit. The programs, that can be difficult, depending on where you get them from.

The biggest thing it requires is time. Lots and LOTS of time. For example, the pic in this thread probably took roughly an hour and a half to get right http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

I think you need to enhance the lighting in your renders, or the smaller images will be far too dark.
