I just went and saw it. I was doubtful that it was gonna be any good. Let me tell you what it was the best damn movie I have seen in a long time. Damn Good.

I wanted to see it as soon as I heard about it. It sounds so bad that is ends up being good.

I can't believe anything hyped so heavily could be any good. I didn't hear a single review of it before it was released (usually a sign that the makers know it sucks and don't want people to know before they've paid their money.)

I can't believe this movie would be any good at all. I've seen a lot of previews over the past 10 days, and to be honest, it looks utterly moronic in both premise and execution. I don't have any desire to see it whatsoever, based solely upon previews.

I think Combat Wombat is trying to fool people into going to see it... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I would have to say that you have totally and utterly missed the point of the previews and why people would go and see this movie: because it is trying to be moronic and satirizing in certain ways.
Myself, I want to go see this movie, just to see Samuel L. Jackson's performance.

IF you come up with a funny design for a t-shirt or mug or something for Snakes on a Plane.. CafePress made a deal so that its users can use the name of the film in designs and advertising. There is a ton of designs showing up already as they all try to outdo each other (and grab some bucks while its hot)

No, the point was not missed. Movies such as these I usually find to suceed more at being moronic than satirizing, and the form of moronism they choose isn't the kind I find interesting/amusing/whatever. Just not my kind of movie.

The name just yells CHEAP MOVIE to me. I would have changed the name to something more B'ish than cheapish.

Venom Air
Air Plane Python
I recall when I was a kid seeing a documentary where a documentary taker was captured by a python, on film, and was slowly squeezed to death and consumed, on film. The sounds he made as he was slowly being killed have stayed with me to this day. The look of absolute terror on his faces could not be fogotten by even most calus of us.
While I doubt I will go see this movie, I might rent it some day. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I would presume he'd set up the camera beforehand, set it to record, then somehow managed to get himself squished to death on his own camera...
...then again, who knows?

Army of Darkness (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106308/) is adult entertainment. Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. Good use of the word satire.
Date Movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0466342/) borders the territory between hilarious and just stupid.
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080391/) is, in my opinion, just over the border. Bunch of kids having a fun time with a movie studio. Better than most home/vacation movies tho.
Snakes on a plane? Somewhere between 'just gave up entirely' and 'f*ck you'.

Army of Darkness, now there was another good movie.

Army of Darkness kicks ***. "Shop Smart, SHOP S-MART!"
But Snakes of a Plane, if anything, delivers what it says.

Normally, I skip the horror flicks. Most of them are for teens, and with the excess blood and guts, not to my liking. (Although I don't mind the excessive bit of flesh showing haha). But this movie I do want to see. I'll probably have to go alone, as my wife said she doesn't want to see it. Of course, she's the one that never wanted to see Anaconda, which she still hasn't, AFAIK.

I might see it oneday if I'm bored and have nothing to do. The only reason why I'd even consider seeing it at all is because Samuel L. Jackson is in it.

I read an article where Samuel L Jackson had no wish to make the film if it was going to be so bad it was good. Doesn't mean it isn't, but he was trying not to go in that direction.

Like that delusional person who thought he was the wild bear man. Hung around wild bears in Alaska convinced he "knew" them and they would never attack him. He thought tour guides throwing stuff at bears to make them go away was being cruel. He convinced his girlfriend to go with him. She was scared but unwisely trusted him. They found his video set up that recorded their final encounter.

My dad thinks 'friendly bear' movies get people killed.
I've got that as a notion, myself.

For the sake of correctness I just read the wiki article on him, Timothy Treadwell. The video camera only got audio not video.

To be honest, despite all the hype and internet buzz about this movie, it just looks stupid and low-brow.
Yet another dumb movie concept to pander to the lowest common denominator...
