Indeed! I will try to make some decent 1280x1024 wallpaper for our beloved Doms 3. nation. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
That will take some time, but I won't be lazy.

Neat! One alternative phrase for Ulm could be "Ferro Credimus" which roughly means "In Iron We Trust" in latin. It was used by the Cybernations alliance I was in and the alliance was called...IRON. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Eh yes. I've made the wallpaper on my laptop, and it was easier to make it 1024x768 on that. That is why its not 1280++.
I might make a bigger version on my main comp. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Johan - I am glad that you like it.
I still plan some updates on the Ulm wallpaper, after that I want to make a wallpaper for Ermor and Abysia. All the other nations will have one later on hopefully, but I want to make these wallpapers first, because these 3 are my favourite nations in the game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Ulm wallpaper version 1c is out. The graphical errors were fixed. The image above has been replaced with the new one.

Also here is the 1280x960 version of the Ulm wallpaper. [version 1c] ->

If it's not too much to ask... Could we have some big versions (like, maybe, 1600x1200)?

I will try to resize the image and adjust some effects so it won't loose from the quality.
I've made a big mistake. I haven't saved my work while I was working with the image, so all I have now is the vanilla 1024x768 image. Starting from the beginning to make a 1600x1200 image would require lot of time.
When Im gonna start to work on the Ermor wallpaper I will save the image more times while Im working on it, so I will be able to make other wallpaper sizes without a quality loss later on.

Hehe, well I decided to use both style on the different wallpapers. [Dominions 3. & Dominions III.]

The Abysia wallpaper has been updated slightly. [I've just made it a bit brighter, because the background was a bit too dark.]

Btw the Ulm wallpaper will be updated today once again. I will add some background borders or just a simple borders, also there will be a 1280x1024 version for it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Ok, all wallpapers can be found in post #1 from now on.
I've also deleted 3 of my replies, because they became obsolete after these changes.

The Ulm wallpaper is now 1280x1024 and updated with borders. Enjoy!

Hmm, my money is on Photoshop. Some of the effects look like ones you can get from Photoshop.

And where is the "That looks shopped. I can tell it by few pixels and my years of experience" meme pic when I need it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I thought so too. I was wondering how good is DominionsFan in photoshop (I have quite a stupid question to ask in photoshop, but you'd need to be really good to answer it)

I am using Adobe Photoshop CS2 & Corel Graphics Suite X3. These softwares are not cheap, but they are excellent. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Just discovered this thread...

I've got to tell you your wallpapers are beautiful.

I will use pangaea as my wallpaper http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

And if there was single one nation I'd have liked for a wallpaper it would have been Pythium. Hope you might one day use your talents to make one.

Okay I've had some time after midnight, and managed to make a Pythium wallpaper in ~80 mins. Usually I make a wallpaper in ~1 hour. I might make some minor changes to this wallpaper, but I am unsure at the moment. I still have some ideas to upgrade it a bit.
The image can be found in my first post, as usual.

Check this softwate out:

AutoWallpaper (http://www.arsoftware.co.uk/productDisplay.asp?id=102)

One of its features:

Automatically cycle your wallpapers on startup, on program exit, every few minutes (up to 4 hours).

You can use all of the Doms 3. wallpapers if you want, this software will change them at specific times/startup/exit. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

The Ermor wallpaper. Try making the flying skeleton man with the scrythe transparent around the edge, perhaps blend it more into the background. And adding mists to the guys to the left will give it a more ghostly look http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I don't get it, what do you mean on "transparent around the edge"? The model is blended into the background. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

At this moment it looks to much cut/paste, if you take the Skeleton with scrythe layer and set the the visble around %80 plus taking the edge of the skeleton with scrythe with a ereaser which are set to fade. It will get a more ghostly touch.

Ah now I understand it. Well I was thinking about smoothing the edges of that part of the image, but I decided not to. Why? Simply because basically no one would "play" with the image like that. This is a wallpaper, so the people won't adjust the [layer] brightness.

The problem is, that working with this editor takes some incredible amount of time. Not to mention that I must draw borders, and since I want nice borders, I will have to photoshop it. I must photoshop the map also. I think that the map will be done in a week, since I just can't work on it on the weekend, because of real life things. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
