its SPACE EMPIRES enough said.

I wont get my copy until tomorrow so i honestly cant say yet. Then we have to wait for the patch to be put out, on the official release date, to fix things. but again its space empires. go buy it.

I've ordered my copy, but I honestly can't recommend it for anyone else in the state it's in. Ideally, i would not have been released this soon. Play the demo, see if you like it.

Try the demo. I found it not as fun and not as addictive as SE4.

Played the demo, found it as addictive and more impressive that SE4 demo long time ago.

I agree with Slick. Played the demo and while I think SE5 has a LOT of potential, in it's current state, I wouldn't recommend it.

I found it much better than the SE4 demo back in the day.The real time battles are much more epic, faster and raise the game to a new level of immersion. The only downside is the A.I is very weak as this stage.

Give the game time and it will prove that it is worthy of the Space Empires name. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif (The longer the game is played the better that it will become.)

The demo is fun but not quite addictive because of all the bugs and crashes, and I keep running into the 100-turn limit before things get too interesting. I can't wait to get the full game! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

This is not a bug, this is a feature :p

In SEIV single player, I would always research Stellar Manipulation long before the AI, and start removing warp points... that doesn't work in the SEV demo. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

With a good bug patching, SEV will be as good as SEIV... with a good UI patching, it will be far better.

What is with all the TINY Gas Giants in SEV? Shouldn't they be Gas Dwarves? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Tiny gas giants exist for the sake of play balance.

I say buy it. I've played the demo since it came out and I feel that, with the bug and feature fixes that will come, this will be the best SE yet. MM is know for multiple patches that both fix and upgrade their games.

Give it two years to be finished, a bunch of mods to go with it, and it will be a good game.

Most of the modders here see great potential.

I'm not a modder and I like the uncluttered look of SEIV.

Hopefully it won't take 2 years to fix the game. I'm going to buy it as soon as it's available in the stores around here. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yeah, me too. SEIV has been a permanent resident on my hard drive. I expect the same of V.
