I believe that this question is a faq, but I can't find the answer. How do I use the mod?
I have tried to set my path as ":= E:\Space Empires IV\mod", but it don't work. What should I do?

There is a .txt file in your se4 folder called path.txt. Open it(notepad), change the field that says 'None' to the mod folder name of the mod you want to use (ex 'TDM-ModPack', or 'DevnullMod', or 'MyOwnMod' or whatever),. Now just start Se4, it will auto do the mod files instead of the regular files.

"The Empress took your name away," said Chance.
Owen smiled coldly. "It wasn't hers to take. I'm a Deathstalker until I die. And we never forget a slight or an enemy." -Owen Deathstalker.

My mod directory is "mod". I have tried editing the "path.txt" file (see first message) but it is still unable to detect my mods. What is the path I should use?

there is a file called "path.txt". It has a line in it that looks like this:

Using Mod Directory := \none

change that line to look like this:

Using Mod Directory := \<insert your mod folder's name here>

then your mods should run.

note: _ALL_ modded files must be in the mod folder. Any mods outside the mod folder will be ignored if the path.txt points to the mod folder.

I hope this helps

Ok in your example you used the absolute path to the mod folder, you don't need that just the name, I think the relative path will work too ie \mod. But I just use the name usually and it works out ok.
