I reformatted and ran scandisk, no physical errors were found. What happened is my my whole directory structure somehow got trashed. It took me about 2 days to recover my semester project. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif
I'd hate to sink another $200 into another hard drive for it seeing I only paid $600 for it (PII 233, 64MB). It has been a nice laptop though.

Hmm. Doesn't sound good. When the FAT32 table went did you replace the Hd or just reformat it? I don't know windoze well enough to know if a FAT32 error is necessarily a physical hd error, but I do know that physical hard drive errors are usually pretty persisnt- in most cases it's best just to get a new drive. Of course if it was just a software error I'm worrying you unnecessrily=-)
