Hello,

I studied some AI files of the default races as well as several of the Star Trek races to learn from other configurations. Probably I'm missing the point but I wonder why even a proud warrior race such as the Klingons gets its anger level increased by 5 when winning a battle?!

From the Klingon_AI_Anger.txt:

Combat Attacking Won := 5
Combat Attacking Lost := 15
Combat Attacking Stalemate := 0
Combat Defending Won := 5
Combat Defending Lost := 15
Combat Defending Stalemate := 0

Could anyone explain this fact to me?
Thanks!

If you attack and win, attack again. Getting "Mad" at him lets you keep attacking. Only if you fight to a stalemate should you have a chace for diplomicy to succeed.

Just my take, I could be wrong.

The AI file affects the political mood. Not the population happiness.

Just to see if I get the point: Assume the empire Iīm playing had -5 at "Combat Attacking Won". The probability of successfully negotiating about any treaty with the race attacked would increase (which is nonsense by all means, I know). Or would my diplomatic/negotiation skills improve regardless of the empire I negotiate with (in terms of the mentioned parameter)?

Sorry, if these questions have been posted a thousand times before but I couldnīt find any information on the AI_Anger.txt file (the modding tutorial doesnīt explain it -- great help nonetheless!).

Your own empire ignores the AI files completely. Unless you miss a turn and the AI plays for you.

If you attack an AI race that gets happier when they fight, then they will like you more.

That's not quite true. The anger file is used for a player, either the default one or if you've chosen "Use files from Race" the race's specific anger file (if present).

Or if you turn on any ministers.

It is known that human player moods in the politics screen do not change unless the AI is playing for them...

So if I (as a human player) don't use any ministers the AI files are completely ignored whether I chose "Use files from Race" or a "Minister Style"?

That's correct.

I had a mistake earlier when I said the Anger file was used with a human player.
