If you have any tools or anything that you use to mod SE5, please post info/links here if your willing to share.
Also if someone can sticky this it might be helpful.

Hey SJ, Can you make a modification to your range parser to list all of the ranges, not just the by 10 range breaks? Or do you think it would take up to much room in the view box? Maybe a button, or check box to turn on/off the option?
Thanks much...

Damage Builder (http://www.spaceempires.net/files/sev/tools/se5_dmg_builder.zip)
Builds a weapon damage formula. Requires .NET Framework 2.0 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en).

Just in case some people miss it let me point out that some utilities come with SE5. I only noticed them after I patched yesterday but I think they came with the original game.
They are located in the utilities folder of the game. There are,
A script parser
A shipset viewer
tech chart and data exporter (that one seems to find a lot of unavailable values)

I have updated the Value At Range Lister with a "dump to file" button, which will create a text file in the current directory containing the values at all integer ranges from 1 - 500
http://imagemodserver.mine.nu/other/MM/SE5/Tools/
There at the moment are:
- Animation Buddy
- SE4/5 Pop Modifier Generator
- SE5 Slot Modder
- Value At Range Lister

Here is another editing TOOL for your list. You already have it on your computer. NOTEPAD
Hope that helps.

This came up awhile ago when it was made available. Apparently despite what some Virus detectors say it doesn't contain a virus. But better safe then sorry.

Fyron:
How does the Damagebuilder work?
I DL'ed it and tried to get it to work, but to no avail.
What to do?

Any word on the map editor?

Just put numbers in the boxes and push the build button. This creates a formula which you can then paste into the component.

Sorry for my late response, but I can't even get it to start.
The errorbox says that "Damage Builder.exe" is not correctly configured. I unpacked it into the "Data" folder of SE V.
Now what do I do (besides crawling into a corner and be ashamed of my self for not getting it to work http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif )?

I think you need to have the .net framework junk for Fyron's programs.

Whooops, didn't see that down there.
Thanks Kwok and Fyron!
It works now by the way. Top notch!
Tomorrow I'm going to play around with it.

Move this to the Modding section? Or pull some links and add them to the links thread of the modding section?

I wrote a program that Calculates the damage for multiple levels of a particular weapon and then displays them in a grid. The Column headings are the range from 0 to 500. The Row headings are the tech level. The program prompts you to input three piece of information from the Components.Txt file:
1. Number of Levels
2. Weapon Space Min Damage Modifier Formula
3. Weapon Space Max Damage Modifier Formula

Works nicely now, thanks. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Looks like it'll be a helpful little tool.

I put /sev when I meant /se5. It's fixed now. Seems like every other day I make that mistake with spaceempiresv.com vs. spaceempires5.com. Thanks for letting me know.

Note that range can go up to 500, so you might want your program to be able to handle such ranges.
