So I'm playing a game against the AI, it's turn 150 and the AI is STILL playing with low 5 digit research points (I'm on 2.5mil and rising rapidly).
So what do I do about it?
Well, it's simple. I don't much care for "intelligence" as it is in the game. If I can't steal tech it's useless to me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Anyway, long story short, I made intelligence centres actually produce research points. And at a rate of thirty times faster than normal. :-)
Just change these two lines under the "Intelligence Center" in facilities.txt to the following:
<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>Ability 1 Type := Point Generation - Research
....
Ability 1 Amount 1 Formula := (500 + (([%Level%] - 1) * 50)) * 30</pre><hr />
Change that 30 to whatever number suits your game/needs. It will probably have to be a little lower early game.
Obviously you shouldn't be building intel centres yourself as that'd be cheating. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
So now instead of producing 35,000 useless intel points (I say useless because intel is actually turned off for this game - another bug), the best AI has 1.5 mil points to play with. I'll probably double it to sixty times before long. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
