I've deleted this map, since there is an upgraded version with a new name.
You can find it here:

Very good MP map. Almost a chessboard fairness feel. It should go over well.

Gandalf, one day I will make some huge map for PBEM games, also I know that you prefer those kind of maps. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

*Edit* I've removed the attachment, what contained the v1.02 .map file, since a new version is out. [v1.03]
Yet another .map version is out: v1.02
I've removed the post what contained the v1.01 .map file.
v1.02 update: The province in the middle of the map -the one with the lake- has been updated. The population of the province is very high now, but it is defended by a stronger independent army.

Actually Im (very slowly) messing around with that. Im trying to get a decent maximum map with the color scheme I like.

Im happy with the colors but it takes a long time to generate the maps. 2 to 3 hours each. And the light blue lines in the waters are a rare occurance. But eventually I will get one I like and start playing mega games on it to catch all the neighbor errors.
What I plan is to offer it as a map for huge mega games (all human players of an era, and all else AI for a total of 79 players)

If each player starts in a corner then one player has an advantage by having three connecting provinces instead of two.
Otherwise it's a great two or four person map.

Yep, however it is still balanced, since 2 out of those 3 are small provinces. [low income & resources]

Huh, 4-5 independent provinces between capitals, sure encourages rushing. No wonder you people are so into those blitz games if that's the way you like to play it. As to the map, pretty and apparently quite deterministic in balance.
Just one thing, there was already a map named "Clash of the Titans" (see http://www.illwinter.com/dom2/maps.html ) for dom2 to be used in 2-player games that imports nicely to dom3. I was just wondering whether the identical naming could be a problem or not.

Yes, Ive just figured out yesterday. that theres a map with this name already. I am enchancing this map graphically now anyways, and I will give it a new name also. Stay tuned. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
As for blitz games, 9-10 provinces / player is absolutely enough for 4 players.
