Been a long time but I'd thought I would drop by now that the new game is out. Good to see some old faces and lots of new blood , thats what makes this series grand.

Initial thoughts, I like the new game, I do think its a disappointment but expected that a new release has a patch right off the bat (I don't recall buying a game or product in a looooonnnng time that didn't) but Aaron's track record makes for sure that 99% if not all the bugs will be fixed as well as a fair bit of customer 'wants' and 'needs' are included as well.

Things I'm looking forward too: a new TDM-Modpack http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif, a new Devnull Mod {with space monsters!!!}, a new round of shipsets (once Atrocities gets rolling there will probally be 5 or 6 a month with his usual top notch quality) and eventual PBW support http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif (though with my daughter just past the 2 year mark I've got 'little' time these days that dosn't include Dora, Miss Spider or Blue http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif). And I'd love someone to produce a 'classic' EEE shipset (glowing detached balls and all) and their less friendly cousins the EEEvil as their new ships look a little strange to me.

Things I'm working on.....

Yes, a Mount Mod is in the works (most mounts work fine so far though the 'light' mount does seem to rule just to the fact that you can fit soo many 'guns' on a ship and just crank out the duc/meson shots) and the D-Mod will follow after awhile when I figure out what the heck I'm doing with the new files.

Now to my questions to those with the time and knowledge.

Mounts,

Do Missile weapons still have the same problem as SEIV in the fact that the launcher can be affected but the actual seeker cannot??

Can shields still be modded with mounts for increased shield points?

Weapon 'Rate of Fire' and Damage Type (ie, armor skipping etc), can these be changed (a change I always wanted with IV, I'm gonna email this to Aaron as well, hopefully he can squeeze it in and maybe even add the ability to affect a beam/bolt/seekers 'speed' and range as well as adding abilities like 'supply generation' (solar collector type engines) or armor regeneration (nanites) to mounts.

Hahha yes a new Mount Mod! I was hoping so much that you would come back and do one for SEV. I have been missing my Spinal Mounted PPB in SE5 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Oh Lord, not Lazy Town. I hate that one. I'll take Backyardigans over that easily.

EDIT - Now Wonderpets or the Doodlebops could fall into the sun for all I care.
