"Hello,
Today, after a friend's call, I found a virus on my pc named: sulf
it is programmed to erase your hd on 25-mai-2001 (yes tomorrow) and has been spreading through email. Virus scanners dont find it, it CAN be found by entering sulf in your file search (at least in Windows) it will probably find a file called sulfnbk.exe GET RID OF IT and dont forget to remove it from your trashcan!
Go on to your desktop and press F3 to bring the search menu up.

This is a hoax. The file is a Windows utility. Check out this info on the Symantec website:

Is this some sick joke? That file you mentioned I checked on my computer. It just happens to have been installed on my computer the day I upgraded to WinME like ALL the other files in there.
Someone must have been trying to trick you into erasing something important, since they couldn't infect you. Quite devious. Or is it that you folks are trying to trick us into doing it?
I'd love to know what other people think.

Here is the file. I scanned it with Norton Anti-Virus 2001 so I am pretty sure it is clean.

I received instructions from our parent company to delete the file and did it.
Anyone know what this file does? It doesn't seem to have affected the operation of my computer.

Now your computer can not handle long file names.
This is what that file does.
Sulfnbk.exe, is a Microsoft
Windows utility that is used to restore long file names
