The PBW King of the Hill league (K.O.T.H.) is an open league available to all Space Empire V players. The goal is to provide an ongoing arena for players to compete against one another and test their skills. It is strictly for fun and there is no fee to join and no prizes will be awarded.

To join the PBW King of the hill league, send an email to the league administrator, parabolize at parabolize@gmail.com

Looks pretty good Parabolize.
If you could please setup a game for Se5 and myself, we might start things rolling, pretty please. :-)
I'm willing for whatever settings se5a is, since I'm still playing my first Balanced game, and my first simultaneous game and am still working out what works and doesn't.
As mentioned to se5a however, it might be a slow game as opposed to other Koth games.
Thanks
Baron Grazic

I will put up the game once kwok's balance mod 1.00 is on pbw. Then I will go about putting the koth page on se.net and turning my first post in this thread into something informative. Then I will try and gather more people.

Since the Balance Mod 1.00 breaks savegames, that'll have to wait a few days Parabolize. I've got a .99 game going that's in its final stages.

Or Geo could use a different folder name for 1.00..

could do it PBFTP, though we would need a site to upload and download to.

did you get your ftp server running in the end para?

parabolize
December 14th, 2006, 10:24 AM
Technically it is running its just blocked by the modem. The modem is a Accton/msn dsl 1000 with V1.00.026e firmware. I need to open ports 21, 5000-5100 but I can't until I update the firmware. Dslreports (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10517) says to go to https://signin.msn.com but that didn't work when the site was up let alone now that its down. I probably need to get in contact with some msn support.

BTW what is the latest version of PBFTP.py? I am having a lot of trouble with 0.050. The first thing is the group permissions which I think I fixed with ftp.sendcmd('site chmod 660 '+upfile) not sure if thats the best way. Second its not putting anything in the plr zip (I'm guessing that I did something wrong but I can't see what.)

0.120b is the latest, but I'v not had a chance to see if that works properly yet.
where did you get 0.050? the latest version on se5.com is 0.111b

Thanks for setting this up Parabolize.
I'm using a default ship set, the Drushocka I think, with AyersRock_Flag_Set that MarkSheppard created. Problems with PBW?
se5a - I'm working over the Xmas-New Year period, but if its quiet I should be able to get some turns done at work. Will you be around?

I'm probibly going away for the new years weekend, but other than that, I've not alot planned.

Dam, the first turn failed. Sorry if it was my flag set, but was hoping it would be fine.
Don't talk to me about Summer neighbour, the over-night low here is Australia was 30 degrees Celsuis http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif (For Americians = 86 F)

it's just where you installed the flagset that messed things up. but I think geo has goten things working now. it's just wating for you to do your turn to see if it really works.

Ohh you're austrailian! goodoh, then yea, you know it's summer http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Well that is privileged information, but I moved to get away from the traffic of the Olympics but the Commonwealth games wasn't too bad. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

se5a via Grazic Koth Update
2401.3 - Empires meet almost on the warp point in the southern system of Osshod. A Grazic Scout ship verses 2 se5a Colony ships.
This could be a key battle area with some good planets for us both.
To build the suspense the PBW server failed processing the turn, probably because of the length of the battle as the colony ships run with the Scout ship firing missiles in chase.
Se5a has been in first place most of this short game, but with no northern boarder yet, anything can happen...

should be interesting...
I should have set my strat for colony ships to ram maybe.
maybe I might replay my turn.

Turn still failing. And unfortunatly because of the 1.20 bug making it impossible to run PBEM turns from within the game I can't see if it's generating errors or just taking a long time to run. I'm going to email this game turn to Aaron and see if he can make heads of tails of it.

Me???
Went down to the beach for New Years and didn't once turn on a PC for 3 days.
But I'm back as you know and as long as the turns keep processing I'll be happy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Weird - I can't seem to modify posts. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Looks like Parabolize left both Ruins & Intelligence on.
Gentleman's word that we both won't use Intelligence?

I was not aware that intel was meant to be off?

I turned off ruins when I created the game for sure so I must have forgotten when creating the map.

Just reread the KOTH rules and no mention of Intel. Oops I was sure that it was off.
I guess I know what that latest Huge Breathable planet is good for. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Put me on this hill, parabolize.

May rejoin the SEIV hill as well, but I'm not sure how many games I have time for yet. (and switching between the game's UI drives me nuts).

Gusset: I smell..rematch! I propose KOTH defaults for this one.

Gusset has surrendered. Apparently there was a problem where his weapons platforms would disappear for some reason. Anyone else seen that bug?
