True enough, but I still like to think that it has since at least one major store chain now carries the game. Its not walmart but it will do. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I did notice that EAW has dropped in price by over $30.00 since it release almost a year ago. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I should have waited to buy that POS game.

Any one here ever play this on line game called Jumpgate? (http://www.themis-group.com/jg/) I don't think such a thing is for me, pay to play just doesn't seem right ya know.

Has any one ever played Supremacy (http://www.matrixgames.com/games/game.asp?gid=300)?

According to gamespot.com the game is a 6.0 mainly because its so damn easy to play. I am thinking about picking it up along with the re-released version Reach For The Stars 1.4. I know that RFTS is a crap game but I have always wanted it just to have it. I hope that the 1.4 update, released in 2005, will help the game. (The game was released in Aug 2000)

Games like these just make you appreciate games like SE IV, SE V, and Dominions all that much more.

I did fritter a substantial portion of my youth away on a strategy game called supremacy, but a quick wikipedia check tells me that it's not the game you're thinking of.

Anyone else remember this one:

That’s what I thought when reading Atrocities post; man the nights I spent up plotting my next move, negotiating to form power blocks, researching and developing and deploying forces. Then would come the inevitable nuclear arms race and the new player would always be the first one to fire. Oh God what fun those days were! They only got better after I grew up and got married. Then I had a wife to shuttle the group out coffee so we could squeeze extra minutes playing instead of making then mixing our own cups. Man was I shocked when I clicked that link and found out it was something altogether different.

Now I don’t think I would play this one; it seems to violate some kind of fond-memory-taboo you know what I mean? I would play a computer version of the real game though!

Anybody play the new ST legacy game yet? I'm thinking of getting it but not sure if it's going to be any good. As for Jumpgate, it doesn't sound that great, I played E.V.E from Dec 05 till Aug 06 untill I got bored with it. It's a good game (its pay to play as well) but unless your a social person who can get into the game and make loads of friends it tends to get boring when compared to other games like say X3. Never played either Supremacy.

Yes - man what a dissappointment. The controls absolutly suck. I would wait for them to address the bugs, the control issue, and fix multiplayer.

From what I've read so far...it isnt has good as previous versions of ST games like SFC, anc BC. It is supposed to be very pretty, but the game play is very flat...Do research on reviews and such, and make your own decision...

Huh, ok, thanks. I've learned not to trust reviews from mags because it seems the big companies always get great reviews for crappy products.

I just read one at gamespy, and they basically hated it...

I tried hard to find SE5 at the local Fye because they carry a few harder to find games. So far, no luck. I'll have to check at Best Buy-I wonder if they give it any shelf space or if it's just orderable?

Um, they did not hate it and in fact the reviewer has posted here about his review. Most of us feel that he did a very honest job with the review and if you were to ask him, and we have, he likes the game, not hates it.

Holiday specials are often the case during the holiday season. Bargin Bin price would be $9.99 for the record.

$40 is not the "bargain bin"...

President_Elect_Shang

They may have placed it in that section to make those bargain minded shoppers think they are getting it at reduced price, thus boosting sales. A dirty trick but nothing compared to those 50% sales on items that have been marked up 250%.

Ya, or the ID tracking cards spreading to supermarkets and other stores with checkers forced to say, "You saved $10!" when it is really, "If you don't use a tracking card, we'll overcharge you $10!"

Or, "$100 off with mail-in rebate!", which is really, "We'll overcharge you $100 if you don't give us your address, and we'll do our best to invalidate or lose your mail-in rebate, so we can fink the $100 from you anyway!"
