So I keep getting brutalized by supply issues as the game progresses. I an know realizing that one resupply depot per system is not nearly enought. Hell, neiter is even one per planet!

So what is enough? What are other options rather than relying on depots?

What is the typical makeup of a fleet support consignment? Repair ships, supply ships, ordinance ships, ECM ships???

Please, please someone write a little tutorial for all of us dummies!

Thanks,

Javaslinger

Are you trying to rely on the remote distribution?
Or are you sending ships to the planet to pick up supplies?

Also remember to put resupply depots on planets with large cargo capacities. A planet with that can hold only 2000 tons of cargo can also only hold 2000 supplies and ordinance, which isn't nearly enough to restock even a modest fleet.

So of my newbie issues.. I haven't build a single cargo hold.. anywhere.. on a ship or planet... wait, I lied, I do have on on each of my colony ships....

I resupply on the planet, but again, no cargo holds so it takes forever....

I use DUC's... so I'm ordinace based.. oh, and plasma missiles.. still ordinance based...

Ouch... I have solar panels now.. and I am working towards quantum reactors...

Oh, and I just upgraded my resupply depots.. so that should help?

Thanks,

A supply runner might be a good idea, as suggested by SJ above. What is the composition of the fleets in question?

i.e. size and number of ships/fighters/drones? Any racial points hurting your for supplies?
