You will At, you will. I have complete faith in your skills. It may take some time but waiting for your work is worth any wait!

Those are really good http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
On a side thought- maybe if SEV's graphics were... ahh nevermind.

How did the guys who made the other shipsets create theirs?

Do you already have them as 3d models? What format are they in?

They were made with Doga and can be converted to .X models - but they are poly-heavy and would require a lot of work to reduce properly. I think overall Atrocities is suffering from the same problem I am with modeling, both our preferred modelers don't allow us to build/import effectively in .X format and we need to get over it and learn a new program. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Well said CK. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif These were just old Romulan models that I updated slightly for use with the final version of the STM and AST mods.

Anim8or and lithunwrap.. great combo. I hate things that are complicated. everything I do is in anim8or. you really should give it a go. you would be amazed at what you can build using extrude and moving points around starting from a cube or a cylinder.
and you can lower the poly count by merging faces and moving points to overlap and then merge points. all in all I think anim8or has allot going for it. it's only drawback compared to working with dogs is the lack of prebuilt parts, but you make your own and then everything is 100% original.
anyways, that's just my 2 cents.
a few examples of some simple models I have made can be found here..

Ever consider using the transparency trick? I don't know if SE5 has a preset-transparency color offhand, but if it does, you can design the ship as a solid object, then set areas to be transparent thus allowing it to get by at a lower poly count.

Also for transparency, if se5 accepts .png as texture maps a model can be given transparency using the alpha map.
Just a thought. (might need to do a test.)
