A slight change to the Bmp_MiscBackgrounds. This should make it a bit easier to see configuration slots in the create design window. /threads/images/Graemlins/Flag_NewZeland.gif

Can you show us a screen shot of what you have here? I prefer to look before downloading.

Just a note:

You should only keep one LS/CQ pair in the inner hull. The rest can be used for impromtu armor.
Shield generators can be the same way, since you only need one to keep your regenerators useful.

Weapons should be packed in as close to the inside as you can get if you want your ship to get an extra shot off before it explodes.

Right now it could be a mute point until we can get the slots more user friendly.

Well, then just put the crew quarters on the outside. What kind of a battle dosen't have a bunch of redshirts dying?

Not all of them; this isn't a landing party you know! In this case etiquette dictates you sacrifice all but one red shirt who recovers with strange new powers/abilities. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

This is a nice tweak. And with the colours so distinct from each other, you could tweak the image further to have the letters A, I, O removed from the top left of each square to reduce clutter on the layout screen.

The surviving red shirt becomes the captain of the stellar manip ship, and uses his mind to active the comps. I always place valuable stuff on the inside of the hull due to realism. Also, one thing I noticed is the comp sticks stuff all over the hull, I noticed on one klingon bop the comp put all the engines on the very front, talk about weird.

No I think that was my mistake for the BOP. I may need to re due the slots. I was under the impression the AI didn't use the slot numbers so I didn't bother with them. As I am writing the AI for the SFTC I think it actually does use the numbers but I am not sure how it is told which slots to use. I need to contact Aaron about that to get clarification first. Man what a great catch that was! I haven't had the chance to talk with At about it yet. I wanted to collect the facts and my proposal for a solution before then.

Well At looks like the cat is out of the bag now! Thanks SoD you are on my poop list for the rest of the day! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Glad to be of ASSistance. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Edit: I also noticed in combat it seems as if all the shields have a yellow-orangish glow to them, are we able to change this?

Yes that should be doable but I am not the one you need to ask. At himself or one of the other modelers will need to address that one. I don't recall seeing a setting so it must be one of the configuration files for the ship set.
