Just tried the combat simulator. I included my home planet which appeared centre screen. I then included my base which I expected to see somewhere very near my planet in orbit. Wrong !!! It appeared on it's own at the very bottom of the screen with a Warship I also included, even though it has no movement points. Is there any way round this ?? I want it orbiting the planet.

Hope you can assist.

Thanks.

Not that I know of, the Base is treated as a ship and placed as such I do not know if you can call for the placement of them. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif

Given the name of the thread, let me ask own newbie question, which is totally unrelated and easily answered.

What does 4x stand for? I played MOO and MOOII, I just don't know the term.

Regarding the question about baseships, isn't it possible to put engines on a baseship, making it a huge ship? Still don't have my terms down, but that might explain why it acts like a ship in the simulator.

I think 4X stands for:
Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate.

A baseship is a ship and should have engines (maximum 2), if you want to make reasonable use of it!
Starbase, battlestation and spacestation are bases and cannot have engines, but they have reduced maintenance, so if you don't need movement choose one of these and not a ship hull.

Yes, sorry I meant a Space station orbiting my planet with no movement points. I expected to see this in orbit around my planet in the combat simulator but sadly this does not appear possible. Maybe in some future Version ????

Cheers.

Best thing is to send an e-mail to the developer (se4@malfador.com) describing the issue. He's generally pretty good about responding to user bug reports...
