Announcing the posting of FQM 5.00 Beta 3, for SE5.

Beta 3 version history:
1. Added - New fancy lightning effects, courtesy of Suicide Junkie.
2. Changed - Tweaked placement of stars in trinary, quaternary and quintuple systems.
3. Removed - Normal Warp Points can no longer have damaging abilities.
4. Changed - Warp Points now have some variation in combat sensor penalty ability.
5. Changed - Revamped planet temperature formula.

Please note that this is a work in progress. There are bound to be quirks, which you should report. All suggestions for improvement are welcome!

Is it possible to use a map generated by this for a stock or a Balance mod game?

That formula looks like the idea I was suggesting with the sizes portion removed. Which is more abstract but still more effective than Stock.

No. There is no AI/tech difference between using this and stock. You can easily combine it with the balance mod by copying all non-Settings.txt text files from the FQM\Data folder into Balance Mod's Data folder, then copy the FQM\Pictures folder into Balance Mod folder.

You could potentially get the PBW admins to set up a copy, but you might want to wait til it stabilizes a bit more.
