I have a PBW game running with some friends and we're currently on Turn 80. The next turn is unable to process. I've tried forcing the server to process the turn several times, hoping that it can overcome whatever the hangup might be, but it has been unsuccessful.
I have then uploaded the previous turn and had people redo it in order to try and correct the issue. When it came time to process the same turn again, the same issue happened.
In the history of the game it has only failed to process once before and I was able to force the turn through. I'm worried about rewinding the game anymore as I fear it might still freeze at the same point.
Is the game a lost cause at this point?

Perhaps you could ask the other players to do their turn *differently*, thus changing the turn and hopefully making it able to process.

I did mention that and I know that at least 2 players did their turns slightly differently.

Try downloading all the files manually and running it offline. If the turn is taking an extra-long time to process, that could fix it..

Guy, have you tried running it offline and just letting it go? I know with SE4 there were a few times when we had games that appeard locked and they just needed a very long time to processes, hours even. When I tried your game I gave up after abotu 15 minutes. Unfortunatly I can't leave my computer tied up for hours or I'd test it myself. Maybe over the weekend if you haven't been able to try it.
Also, you might try haveing everybody do their turns but purposely doing nothing. Giving no orders to ships and planets to see if that gets past the turn. I also tried running the turn offline with no .plr files and it hung. But if it's something the players are doing it could easily be something the AI is doing in your absence as well.

Well I might try it later this evening, but unfortunately I'm at work right now.

I even tried everyone doing a turn with no ship movement and it still freezes at the same spot in the progress bar...

My advise is simple. Go buy a gun. Come home and shoot your computer. Then call Dell and order a new one. Problem solved.

Or, you could send the savegame to Malfador.

Atrocities, that's the most optimistic thing I've ever heard you say.
