A few months ago I stopped checking this board. At that point SEV was newly released and IMHO not ready.

So the part where I need advice...

Is it ready? Can I buy and play a usable and enjoyable game?
Is it as addictive as SEIII and SEIV?

that all depends on who you ask, I'm having fun with it, though I'd not touch stock, Balance Mod or IRM are good.

the UI still needs a bit of work, but once you get used to it, it's not toooo bad. the latest patch has fixed nearly all the anoying bugs, there's still a handfull of smaller ones that you probibly wont notice at first anyway.

The game is getting there. AI is still much too weak, stock is still not playable, UI is as before and turn processing time is still a bit too long, but the bugs are gone for the most part.

To me it's not nearly as addictive as SEIV, but I think that has mostly to do with the slow-to-use UI, which makes it sort of a chore to play( and I've even gotten used to the UI ).

I see alot of people that are having fun with the game now, though, so perhaps I'm just being picky.

I'm certainly enjoying it... Multiplayer is extremely fun.

My short answer would be yes. The game has been a good buy for some time now. It really is a very fun game to play and with each new update it becomes more and more enduring.

(that is to say I play it longer and longer now.)
