What is the order in which ground combat occurs? If a planet has WP's, do the troop ships just have to reach the planet and ground combat begins?
What happens with invading fighters? If they are launched in orbit, when do they participate in the ground attack? What about defensive fighters, when are they available for ground combat?

If fighters are launched into space combat, they can't be dropped onto the planet by the transport (unless they were to land before combat ends...
I think the planet goes sort of neutral when it is contested. But any enemy ships still surviving would certainly continue to fight back.
The ground combat itself dosen't happen until day 30+

Do the WP's on the planet have to be destroyed before troops can land?

In a simultaneous turn game, what happens first: a ship moving to the planet and attacking or the planets production?

In SEIV the planet's production happens first.

so how can i make the troops to fire against fighters???, only with the "componetlist.txt" file, in the line "Weapon Target Type List" as fighters???, i think it doesnt work
troops also are vulnerable against bombardments...i think that the solution is to give them a super-super armour -i did that-, with high powered weapons that only harm other troops, with soft weapons that harm fighters
