Here is a website from the FSU physics dept that starts at the universe level and goes down to a sub-atomic level in powers of ten. It really helps give you sense of the vastness of space. Thought this might just serve as general inspiration.

Diseased!? Hell, it doesn't even look like any Oak leaves / tree I've ever seen. Other than that, yeah - pretty cool little Java applet...
